Mistakes and failures are lessons of success in action,
if you choose.
Don’t let anyone else’s opinions convert you into thinking otherwise.
you don’t owe yourself to anyone. But you do get to decide who you give your spirit to.

This week, in the United States, we meet with the holiday of Thanksgiving (the roots of this celebration, the slaughter of Indigenous peoples, in addition to it’s commercialization leaves me turning my back on this “holiday.”)
So, May we give thanks to the first inhabitants and caretakers of this land. May we also give thanks to our communities who help us rise and keep our hearts beating. May we give thanks to ourselves, the survivors, for doing the best we can during the hardest parts of our journeys and especially during our healing.

When I was in my domestic abuse relationship, I would often browse the isles at Hallmark and purchase cards for myself, especially during Valentine’s Day, with sentiments I dreamed of one day receiving from a lover’s heart. I would keep these cards in my desk and in my art folders, and read them to myself as reminders that I was still worthy of Love.
